Throughout the semester, I was able to accomplish a lot of
research within this course because of the general interest in discovery of the
role of animals in literature. I was
able to learn how to research properly in finding primary resources within
databases. The library workshops helped
me find archives and gave me more time to search within the archives for
relevant primary resources. However,
because of my general interest within the course, I was able to not procrastinate
for this essay all too much. There were
still in the moment distractions that plagued my essay-writing, like watching
TV, and the fact of other essays bearing down upon me. Time allocation is still a problem, and it is
not any closer to being solved, as I am writing this just before I begin my
next essay. My next step is to create a
better scheduling system to create a healthy balance of work, diversion and
sleep. This will allow a better product
and more enjoyment within each of the courses within my next semester.
The presence of the blog opened an unknown medium for me, as
it produced a way for ideas to come forward.
The Blog is a free medium to create and build ideas based on the texts
of the course. The difficulty in finding
some of these texts, it was gratifying to read the discovered literature. The blog was also an interesting practice of creativity
within the form, as the blog allowed us to put into practice what an essay would
not allow us to do. In closing, it was
an interesting experience that highlighted this course, as it was a constant
practice for me. For the unique course
topic and especially for one that relies on 18th Century text, the
portfolio was a good means to organize the texts.
Yukari recommended the 'assignment calculator'. This is the info. she gave to Matt in her feedback to him: Here is a link to the Assignment Calculator. Check it out let me know what you think!
